My Christmas gift to my son :)

Post by fireman »

Happy New Year!!!

My son is 16, and an active hunter and all around outdoors...kid (have difficulties in typing "man", although he may be taller than me now)

He LOVES everything firearms...and he has been taught safety and technique and all that is involved in being a responsible owner....He has developed a special love for black powder firearms however. This year Santa Daddy had a new 1858 Remington New Army cap and ball revolver under the tree for him.

I've no idea how to post pics...it's all I can do to get words typed on my old tablet...it is made by Pietta though, and is absolutely beautiful. Shoots like a dream as well!!!

Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birth-right of an American ... The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the People."

Good job. I highly recommend percussion revolvers for young people. No better way to teach them about guns than to start out with the very basics of black powder and old fashioned weapons. I bought my first percussion revolver when I was in my 30's and had already been shooting modern guns for a long time...I still learned a few things from it. It is an art form...sort of like fly fishing is. Get him a Uberti Walker...he'll really enjoy the thunderclap a 60 grain charge provides 8)

I have been thinking of getting a cap and ball revolver myself...I have also been debating on getting a Kentucky long rifle.
"Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home
Let me die in a pile of empty brass."
Amen
