The forums have been hosted for some time now out of my pocket. We are coming up on the annual domain renewal for ohioccwforums.org and I pay roughly $20/month to keep the forums online. I do this to maintain the long-standing history of discussions here indexed in Google, and so that people have a place to discuss this topic outside of modern social media censorship. If you enjoy the forums and you'd like to help offset the cost, please consider a venmo donation here
I wanted to see how long it would take me to go from having parts in packaging and tools laid out on my bench to having an assembled weapon. This just gives me an excuse to build yet another. You know. For personal improvement.

"Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom? Congress shall have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birth-right of an American ... The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the People."

OH.. Actually having parts and that. I was going to say it took me about 2 years to build by AR-10, and my SBR will be built some day. Should have the stamp in the next couple of weeks and then I'll start thinking about ordering upper parts. Maybe be shooting that one by the time the ranges close down at the end of 2015...

Next time, order two sets of parts and give me a call. We can "race". If I win, I get to keep what I build.

I walked into the store, pointed my finger at the gun, pulled out my CC, walked out with a Completely handbuilt custom AR in under 00:15.
No tools, no headspace gauge, no workbench needed.

Congrats and enjoy your new AR.
I KNEW there had to be an easier way!

Yes it is, especially when drop that tiny safety selector detent, or buffer retainer detent, off the workbench and spend 2 hours looking for it, or ordering and waiting another 3 days for Brownells to ship you one for the cost of $9.....only to find that detent still on the workbench 3 months later.
