Re: Shooting Ranges and Dealer information.
A new gunshop opened up in Hartville (stark county), called RJ's defense.
Its a great little store, they specialize in tactical/defense weapons, Ar-15s, Aks, and are also a class 3 dealer.
They said they want to start offering CCW courses and maybe open a range sometime.
They seem like really nice people, I would like to see them do well. If you're ever in Hartville, stop by.

Surely you jest. A few weeks ago, Vandalia Tactical had a 9mm Shield for $500. MSRP is only $449. I was looking for something (I don't remember for the life of me what it was know) at Gallery of Guns. Animal's Arms, PSG, and a few other local small GS listed it for sale at $539. OE had it for $580. Oh I remember, it was the Gen 4 Glock 26.KelTecMuscle wrote:These guys prices are super high compared to Vandalia Tactical and Old English Outfitters which are close by.DF_Fan wrote:For the Dayton area, Vandalia Range and Armory is my pick. BTW, when they have them, VRA's price for the shield is below MSRP.

You DO NOT need to buy their ammo as was previously mentioned but if you do you get a $4.00 discount on range time. ($18.00 with your ammo $14.00 with ammo purchase. Per vsit not by the hour) Ammo prices are in line with everyone else. You can shoot any caliber up to a .308! 50 ft. range and 14 stalls. They offer a CCW class once a month.
All you have to do is ask. Since you were the only one back there they may have forgot to put on the fans. There is more than adequate ventilation there.

Went by there a few weeks ago. They were offering a CHL class, which I signed up for. Great class--went through 125 rounds during the range time.Patriot1 wrote:A new gunshop opened up in Hartville (stark county), called RJ's defense.

Good place to stop by and chat. Knowledgeable owners. They seem to specialise in Class III stuff, suppressors, SBRs, etc. I believe their price for an FFL transfer is $25.
I'll post more if I get around to buying something from them.

I haven't been there lately but I've heard Stonewall remodeled their lanes and it is very nice. Anyone been there recently? I usually go to Hickory Ridge and it has always been a good experience. They recently revamped their website and now offer online gun sales.

I heard from several people that you can only load one round at a time when shooting a rifle there. I don't know if this applies to lever actions and bolt actions or just semi-autos. Kinda ridiculous don;t ya think??

I went to Select fire in berea with m&P bill to check the place out and all i can say is wow i was impressed how they run the place. Their saftey program and range procedure's are first class and IMO blow's stonewall out of the water for a safe range. I'am on the waiting list to get a membership.

I wasn't that impressed with Select Fire, too small and claustrophobic. Acoustics not good.

In 30+ years as an avid outdoorsman n a guy who has more firearms than I can count... Norton's small gun store just north of Delaware is the best customer focused dealership I know of. I've been going there since 1988 and it just gets more n more customer friendly as the years go by. Check it out all you big gun store customers.

Re: Shooting Ranges and Dealer information.
Does anyone have any first hand experience with the public range at Monroe Lake Wildlife Area? I'll be in the area in a few weeks with a few hours to kill. I've tried searching here and on Buckeye Firearms, but could not find anything of use. Thanks.
