America's evolving gun culture requires more thoughtful conversations:

This above is the TITLE of the article. I have no idea if it is true, nor accurate. I do support this venue's right to express a mixture of opinion and fact, as protected by the First Amendment. If there is any disagreement with the article, it is simply with the author of the article, and clearly not with this poster.

Gosh. This article seems to be about the personal ownership of firearms in Ohio and our nation. The author is Mr. Phillip Morris. He is employed by the Cleveland Plain Dealer, which was once the flagship newspaper in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Morris a not a reporter, i.e. those persons whose responsibility was to report the daily news. Rather, he is a columnist, and writes opinion pieces, as do most journalists these days.

Mr. Morris has a number of opinions, most of which are not based in fact. But, flogging opinions to subscribers seems to be his job.

Based upon the article, Mr. Morris is or is not, a supporter of personal ownership of firearms. Moreover, Mr. Morris may or may not be correct in his statements about gun owners in Ohio or in other states. But, again maybe this is not an accurate reflection of the tone of the article…and I could be wrong in whole or in part regarding my analysis of the article. Finally, who are we to judge?

Based upon the article, Mr. Morris may or may not support the concept of the Second Amendment. But, again maybe this is not an accurate reflection of the tone of the article…and I could be wrong in whole or in part regarding my analysis of the article. Finally, who are we to judge?

You'd think that after getting called on document dumping in the past few days, you could actually make the sort of post that is required instead of just being a snot about it.

IOW: if you don't care enough about the article to read it and comment on it, why are you bothering to post a link to it?

I haven't been called a snot for decades. My late father used to call me a snot. Thank you, the verbiage was simply refreshing, and took me back, and albeit briefly, down memory lane.

Of course I read the article. I read most of Mr. Morris's work. But, I am trying to keep as many of my options open as possible. Again, I don't want to be judgmental.

If one takes the time to count, I believe I provided four (4) paragraphs of comments about the column. As I feel strongly about the topic, I could have written more, but I was trying to be brief. Feel free to read some or all of those paragraphs.

Likewise, feel free to read the article or not.

See, life really is replete with choices.

From the article:
This Friday at noon, the City Club of Cleveland hopes to amplify the polarizing gun conversation with the hope of directing it toward a search for common ground. I will be part of a panel discussion along with Edward Hill, Dean of the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University and Dennis Terez, Federal Public Defender, Northern District of Ohio.
Apparently Jeff Garvas wasn't invited,,,,

The gentle person may have been confused. It's possible he thought I hadn't read the Morris article. It's possible he thought I was verbose. It's possible he may be in the placebo group.

neobiz from the comments section of the article wrote: It's starts with respect, and avoidance ... I also treat everyone with respect. Arguing with anyone, especially a stranger makes no sense at all. These people could have just as easily been stabbed or run down with a car in the parking lot.

From the column:
There has to be a responsible middle ground on guns.
Uhmm, why? How 'bout we go back to pre-1934? That'd be a good start. (See my sig line)
Total repeal of ALL firearms/weapons laws at the local, state and federal levels. Period. Wipe the slate clean.
