Last B.A.S.S. match of 2013
Saturday, December 15th will be the last BASS match of the year at Stonewall. Match starts at 5:30 and there will likely be a Christmas theme of sorts (even if just on the bonus shot). Don't let that it's a "competition" scare you from coming out. Shooters of all skill levels are welcome. All that's required of anyone is to show safe handling (muzzle kept pointed downrange, finger off trigger except when shooting, etc.). How often do you get to draw from a holster and shoot multiple targets? Maybe move while shooting? Lots of good, safe fun with great people that are always willing to help out the first timer having been there once themselves.
Cost is $10 for the first shoot and $5 for each re-shoot. Handgun: Any semi-auto or revolver, 38 caliber or larger. Ammo: bring a
minimum of 50 rounds (usually under 50 but always good to have the magazines filled up even if you don't use them). Magazines/Speed Loaders: a minimum of 3 is suggested. Other stuff: strong side (no cross draw) belt or leg (thigh) holster (no shoulder, ankle or other ‘trick hideout’ rigs). Defensive/Tactical Target Setups, Time & Accuracy based scoring. Check us out, make new friends, and have a good time. No prizes, just friendly competition for novice to master level shooters (and of course bragging rights if you beat your friends!).

Well, will hope to see lots of new as well as familiar faces there. Think of it as a Meet & Greet without the food, although nothing stopping a group of us from going out after. Simon's deli down the road has superb sauerkraut balls, corned beef, and tons of other great food. Also a Boneyard up the road along with a Chinese restaurant and a Mexican restaurant.

Re: Last B.A.S.S. match of 2013
Technically it goes through 8:30, but no need to stick around after you've shot. They shoot in the order you sign in. When I go, I usually try to be there by 5p to sign in early and be done early. I'm usually out before 7. But as pirateguy pointed out, a lot depends on the number of people who are there. It can also vary depending on the experience of some shooters and how quickly they pick up on the routines, what they've brought with them, etc.steves 50de wrote:How long to these match's normal go
There's usually 3 "alleys" (stages) set up in the private range. They stagger it so no one is waiting for someone to finish loading magazines and to keep things moving along quickly. It also helps when everyone pitches in to paste targets. As soon as scoring is complete, the faster they're pasted, the sooner the next group can shoot. They always have masking tape but feel free to hit me up for pasters if I remember to bring them. I think it goes a lot faster with them.

Had a great time as usual even with the one jam that cost me a lot of time. Some new faces from the Meet & Greet, hope you had fun and will back next year. Spread the word. It's always the 3rd Saturday of the month at 5:30pm.
