Youngstown Area Meet & Greet 12/21/13

Post by cwcdl79 »

Hi guys, looks like i'm going to try my hand at organizing the youngstown area party. Looking for some input on dates, looking at 12/14 or 12/21. I believe that there's a show at niles the weekend of the 21st.

Ok, we're set at Lonestar, 5555 Youngstown Warren Rd, Niles, OH 44446 for Saturday, December 21st at 6:00pm.

Please pm me with your rsvp by 12/16 (the monday before).
Thanks!

cwcdl:

Any Saturday or Sunday evening (about 1800) is fine with me.

The place we were at last time (in front of the Eastwood Mall) was excellent. Can't remember the name of the place.... Perkins has a slightly nicer room setup, but the food wasn't as good :D....

(Jake figure out that he doesn't get paid to do this?)

Three site requirements: Parking, some sort of "private" area for us, and Management knowing exactly who we are....

Regards,
Stu.

Jake:

Somehow, I don't think that was the name, although the concept of the place was very similar. Maybe they changed their name while we were kicking things around. I remember having some confusion locating them on MAPS.COM.

(There's a Longhorn out here in Boardman, but that's too far for many of the guys. No private room, either, although a section could be closed off if we asked nicely enough :D....)

There's a Denny's on I-80 (at Ohio 170, I think - Liberty Township/Trumbull County) that has a small room that ought to be good enough, but their food is worse than Perkins  .

There's also a Cracker Barrel in Austintown (I-80 at Ohio 46) that probably could be induced to give us a room, but the room's kinda big.

(I like the food, anyway :D.)

Changing names: Many years ago, after not being there for quite a few more years, the wife and I took mom down to Columbus to visit my little sister, and Becka. I called and made a reservation at the Ramada Inn near the Columbus Airport. We got there and couldn't find the hotel! Decided to just run over to my sister's house (maybe a ten minute ride) and get mom settled in, and call the motel from there. Turned out it was now a Marriott. THAT, we'd seen.... A new freeway ramp mucked up the traffic pattern, so the road that just about ended in their lobby was gone, making getting in there a little iffy, but armed with the name, we had no problems finding it later on.

Regards,
Stu.

The LoneStar is "in front" of the Eastwood Mall on US 422, just West of Ohio 46.

Stu.

Come to think of it, that's where they were. They may have had the good sense to move and not tell us where :D....

(Morne was there, disguised as a highway construction barrel....)

IAC, a really nice place, and the food's considerably better (IMHO) than Perkins.

Stu.
