Two that I can Thinkmof. I just don't recall the exact names. Ashland has one. And farther north is the Cuyahoga valley sportsman club. The groups seem to be well connected. Perhaps someone at either of those will of something closer to you.

Ashland Lake Gun Club's first match is March 24, 4 courses of fire. Their intro to IDPA clinic is April 28.

I attended the intro clinic back in 08 and wrote about it here.

Unfortunately that's the 2012 schedule. They haven't posted a 2013 schedule yet, but I understand it will be out soon. I've been going to the matches there for several years and always enjoy it. Didn't get there often last year while looking for work but anxious to make it most if not all this year. Their matches have been on Saturday's starting at 10:30 with a shotgun start (no squading, just show up and shoot the 4 stages in whatever order and pace you want and able to arrive late). Lunch is also included with the match fee and is decent. There normal schedule is a match in March, a clinic in April, classifier in May and regular matches through October with a BUG match in November.

Might be too far for you but there are also matches at Youngstown Rifle and Pistol (http://www.yrpc.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) April through September on the 4th Sunday of the month. 10:00 shotgun start. 3rd Sunday of the month there is an IDPA match in Wauseon, OH (http://www.fultoncosportsmenclub.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) at the Fulton County Sportsmen Club. 5 stages instead of 4 and you get your brass back if you reload (the others are lost brass matches). Starts at 10:00 and you are squaded so you need to be there a little early. I usually aim to get there between 9:30 and 9:45.

Everyone is waiting right now for better weather. IDPA here in Ohio doesn't start up in earnest until March and dies down over September and October. Hoping PCSI finds a new IDPA director. The directors for the past 5 years are resigning and so far I haven't heard of anyone stepping up. It's a long drive for me (3 hours and need to be there by 9:30 or so) but sentimental. Shot my first IDPA match there and have tried getting down there for the first match every year. They've been on the 2nd Saturday of the month and have started up in March, usually a week or two before anyone else. Great facility and great people. Even got to be squaded with Kirk Crego last April. Kirk took division champ in Stock Service Revolver at IDPA Nationals last year and is a joy to watch.

IDPA sessions are also run at South Cuyahoga Sportsmen Assoc. (http://www.scsasportsmen.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) on Monday and Tuesday evenings. You need to check their website for dates for new shooters. North Olmsted Sportsman's Club (http://www.nosc-online.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) on Friday or Saturday evenings (day of the week varies from October through March, April through September it's always on Friday). Before shooting at NOSC you need to attend an IDPA intro which is only held on the last session of the month.

Once the schedule gets released, I'll probably be posting it here as well as reminders as to what matches are coming up that weekend. Usually only get down to PCSI in Circleville once a year but should be at most of the ALGC and YRPC matches. Hopefully stores will start having some inventory by March or April and I'll turn the matches in Wauseon into a trip to Cabela's in Dundee, MI as well.

I don't always do IDPA matches. But when I do, I prefer Ashland Lake.
Stay loaded, my friends
