TDI Handgun I-III

Post by boothdt »

I just finished up handgun I-III on sunday and let me say, Holy Schnikes. I thought I knew how to handle by gun before... I was wrong. They significantly refined my drawstroke, presentaion, grip, stance, trigger management, reloading... pretty much everything. And that's just the skills they improved, that's not counting the new ones I learned: shooting on the move, shooting from cover, gooseneck grip, cutting the pie, drop outs. I learned a lot. I will definitley be back for IV-VI.

If you're on the fence about going to TDI, GO. It's worth every. single. penny.

Just in case I didn't make it clear, I'm officially a TDI fanboy

Yeah there's a lot to be learned there. Hopefully anything gleaned "the hard way" about the firearms and gear is in reference to somebody else's equipment problems rather than your own.

Always interesting to read about guns choking, breaking down etc. Not so as to look down on anybody but TDI is like a test track for blasters, ammo, holsters, etc. Did you observe any issues of that kind?
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

Actually, the only gear malfunctions I witnessed myself were all mine. Every couple hundred rounds I'd have a stovepipe in my 17L with USA AMMO 124 grain factory reload 9mm. My hypothesis is that the ammo is just a touch underpressured.

I'm signed up for Handgun I-III in October. It was the first session they had open when I looked into it in early March! :?

It will wring out the bugs....

I'm a totally different shooter than I was before TDI. 30 years of handgun shooting before and I can honestly say I don't keep any things from before TDI.

Glad you weren’t in a self defense shooting before TDI taught you how to shoot. You could have killed somebody. :?

Dvorak, go, you will not be sorry, I'm saving up for another trip myself.
