Hamilton Co Application

Post by WBL_2006 »

Just got back to the office after submitting my CHL app to the HCSO. It turned out to be better than I was expecting. It wasn't my first preference, but do to work schedules and other timing issues, I decided I'd give it a go.

After a terse conversation yesterday with a seemingly annoyed person scheduling my appointment, today I was greeted by a very nice woman that took my app, photo, and money. She even thanked me and told me to have a great weekend (and it sounded like she meant it!)

The person that took my fingerprints was pretty much all business; but it appears that all he was doing was taking prints and entering background check info into the system. I imagine that can get pretty routine and mind-numbing.

The woman told me it would take about 2 weeks to process. She filled out everything in front of me on her computer; my CHL was completed on the computer screen at least...

Just wanted to let folks know about this, overall, friendly and professional encounter.

It only took Hamilton County 5 business days to process mine last June, you might be in business sooner than 2 weeks :D Congrats!

Additionally, everyone I dealt with down there was quite pleasant. I was a bit apprehensive about the whole thing, since I had just turned 21 about six months before applying. A word of caution, make sure not to enter the wrong building, I think I stumbled upon the visiting hours line at the adjacent prison. I was quite relieved to discover that it was not, in fact, the CHL line

Yeah, you should be approved pretty quickly. I dropped off my application on a monday when I went, and was called to pick up my license on wednesday of the same week. Good luck!

Just got the call this morning from the HCSO. My CHL is ready for pick-up.
Total time was 7 days.

Now I just have to find the time to go pick it up :?
