Jake:

Just got mom home from the Hospital today (Tuesday afternoon). I'll be lucky if I can get to Lowellville for a few hours Wednesday night....

(She's feeling well enough to be a pain in the you-know-where....)

Now, however, do you really want Morne there?

****
We gonna do another get-together in Niles?

Jake, i was reading my Handguns mag today and they were talking about proper foot movement. Maybe we could shoot on the move around some cones? Just a thought. Too bad we couldn't rig up a make shift driver seat and seat belt and draw from that position. I never thought of practicing that senerio. See ya tomorrow......

Yikes I may be having a 'Stu' moment here  , but indulge me please, it reminded me of a point I forgot to make in another recent thread.

Some folks get so caught up in the "Weaver vs. Isosceles Stance" thing that they overlook how textbook versions of both methods kinda go out the window when movement is added to the mix. More important is moving in a way that is safe, reasonably quick, and allows for firing on the move if needed. Sometimes you end up holding/using the gun in ways that could hardly be called a "stance", not surprisingly when you think about it.

Bersa, on your other point, setting up a 'behind the wheel' scenario isn't all that tough. Somebody might even volunteer the use of their vehicle's interior. (Seriously, if I lived up your way and took part in the SHC events I'd gladly do it, at least for non-newbies.)
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

Brian:

I've got a house for sale.... :D

(And we're trying to get Bersa to move further away....)

Sammy's off at Boot Camp for a couple weeks. This could get interesting. I expect a "come and get him" call any minute :D.

IAC, you're absolutely correct about the "stance" thing. Two hands & such is good, but be able to shoot with one hand, and with the wrong one, too....

Stu.

This Thurday's shoot may be a little wet, but we'll see.

Either way, I'm looking forward to another challenging and educational event.

We had 13 folks come out and brave the weather last night.

I want to thank those who regularly drive as much as an hour (or more) to come out.
That tells me I must be doing something right.

That having been said (written) please feel free to make comments or suggestions regarding something you'd like to try that we haven't covered.

Found a way to post scores.

Best 3 of the top 5 had lasers.
One had an El Cheapo $20 laser on his revolver mounted with hose clamps!
He was 2nd.

Fastest draw times did NOT translate to best scores.

Scores are calculated by times and accuracy.
Low scores are best.

I admit I am being a little lazy not reading this entire 12 page thread but I wanted some details on this concealed carry shoot open to the public. I just bought a house in Salem and haven't had the extra cash to join the club but plan to in the near future. Me and my friends shoot just about every weekend and I wanted to ask what this was all about, and see if the info in the original post of this thread was accurate (since its like 2 years old now).

A couple years back I attended a "Meet Greet Shoot and Eat" I believe it was called, I just went to the shoot part I didn't get introduced to many people and didn't attend any dinner. Anyway info would be appreciated and it sounds like it may be a fun weekly activity.
