Date set for NE Meet, Greet, Shoot, Eat.

Post by Jake »

All righty then...

The OFCC NE Division is prepared to host our first annual Meet-Greet-Shoot and Eat
Sat. July 19, 2008
Location:
The Salem Hunting Club
594 Indiana Blvd.
Salem, Ohio 44460

Event will start @ 12:00 p.m. and run until 5 p.m. at the latest.

We may decide to break up earlier if we get hungry, run out of ammo, or just get sick of each other by then.

From there, we can eat some where close.
I'll post options later, as I need to finish packing for The F&G!

Think about this...do you want to eat where beer/alcohol is served?
Obviously, we can't carry there, but it opens food options.

We'll be shooting at a range of 5ft up to 25 yards.

We can shoot paper plates for all I care, but if we have a variety of targets, we can switch up what we do in the way of drills/shooting strings.

I'll gladly accept donations in the form of dollars to off set the costs related to the day.

Safety is going to be paramount!!
Safe fire arms handling will be expected.
I'm sure it'll be a smooth safe and fun event.

Signing a Release of Liability for OFCC and The Salem Hunting Club will be mandatory. If this is a problem for you, please stay at home.

Accepted handguns will be pretty much anything you'd carry for CCW/target shooting. .22 to ??

Be realistic, leave your Deer Hunting handgun home for the day, OK?

We're still in the planning stages, so feel free to pm me or McM or make your suggestions/comments here.

And finally, let's have RSVP s in by July 12th, 2008.

Looks like a winner for me....

I prefer a restaurant where I can carry....

At least I know where Salem is :D....

The Club is NOT charging us 1 penny!!

July 19 Salem. Sorry I can't make it. My offer of 500 rounds of 9mm WWB still holds. If you want, you can purchase it where you want and call me at the time and I will give the place my credit card. Or you can send me a invoice and I'll send you a check. Wish I could make it, but I can't.

Sorry to hear that Carmen.

Thanks for the generous offer. I'll get back to you on it.

I just wanted to add to the details of the day, that we will only be shooting paper targets.

Thanks again Carmen!

Thanks for setting this up Jake. Barring unusual circumstances, I will be there. Whatever dining arrangements are made will be fine with me. I'll bring the HP, my new single six, and anything new I get before July. :D I would love to try some different pistols if others would be willing to trade off on a few rounds. I might buy ammo in various calibers I'd like to try. Since we won't be competing or training it would be a good opportunity to check out some different guns if people want to do that.

After a trip to the F&G, I have some great ideas (stolen) for some of the shoots we'll be doing.

Carmen has pledged a generous donation in lieu of the ammo.
This will benefit everyone who attends, not just the 9mm folks.

I'll be there for sure. Is this the place next to Salem country club? We used to have family reunions there and I would always hear gunfire close by...

Is this the place next to Salem country club?
Just due East as the road starts in incline.

You'll see a large sign on the NE corner. Hang a left there.

Glad to have you aboard!

So far July 19th looks like it will be open for me. 63 miles from the house sounds like a nice road trip for me and the misses. I'll have to see if she wants to go. I think she will enjoy it. I will let you know :)

As plans are taking shape and evolving, so may the first posted thread. Please check in periodically for updates.

McM has some pretty slick ideas up his sleeve if we can *pull* them off.

Only 3 months to go!
