Buying powder

Post by rexles »

Any one interested in NW Ohio buying powder and splitting the Haz Mat fee? I want to buy 8# but the $20 fee makes it tough. I tried to get Gander Mtn. to order some for me but they couldn't get any 8#ers in what I wanted.

Try your local trap range, you might be surprised at the powders they stock or will order for you.

I'm thinking Titegroup, Universal, to start.

What kind we each get does not really MATTER...I'm not sure how many 8lb kegs they can ship per box.

Also going to buy 5k small rifle primers, and 5k large pistol at least, and maybe 5k each of the other two sizes. Waiting on dealer pricing from Powder valley.....and waiting on some money I am getting.

T&T Reloading will pay the Hazmat on $500 order.

graf & Sons waives the hazmat fee for 32lb+ orders, and can ship 50 lbs under one hazmat fee, and even gives 5% discount for orders of $500+

Are you one? Is there a minimum? Share! share!

I'm in Allen (NW) county, was going to place an order for some powders I've never tried before... only need a pound each for starters. AA#5, Longshot, Power Pistol and True Blue.

I'll keep an eye out on this thread for further developments... It'd be nice to save a few bucks. $20 hazmat fee on an 8# can is still a better value than 4-1# cans.

He's located in NW Ohio someplace, if that's what you were asking.

Any of y'all that are actually closer to Dayton/Columbus area, MusicMan and I are also going to do a Powder Valley order, probably when he gets back.

Unless there's some way we can all combine our orders? I know I will speak for 8# of Titegroup and at least 5K Wolf primers, maybe 10K if the money comes through. PRoblem is NW Ohio sounds like Toledo and driving 3+ hours roundtrip doesn't save much money.

I'm wayyyy to the West in Ohio. Right on the Turnpike, Willing to meet other Turnpike corridor powder mavens halfway :-)

Powder Valley I see will ship 48 lbs in one box for one hazmat. I bugged them again about dealer pricing.

Well, be sure to fill me in when the time comes. I'd be interested in 3-4K large pistol primers and a few pounds of powder

Dan, might as well buy 5K, that's a case, that's where the price break is at.

I haven't seen any Wolf primers for sale locally. Anyone have any experience with them?

Man we need a reloading forum.
