Anti gun group claims universal background checks not enough

Post by M-Quigley »

Last night when watching the local TV news they had a story about the efforts to enact gun control in the Senate and what Trump would support if any. The story then showed a rep from Guns Down America who said that Universal background checks were useless and that they want gun registration and owner licensing.

https://gunsdownamerica.org/new-white-p ... ves-lives/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
“Background checks alone are not enough if we are going to build a
future with fewer guns,” said Igor Volsky, Founder and Executive
Director of Guns Down. “If we raise the standard for gun ownership in
America with gun licensing, we will save lives.”
In searching for the Guns Down site I found this also, basically the same theme among the anti gun crowd. Some of the others however don't say that universal checks are entirely useless, as they are a "good first step" and one commentator was honest enough without further questioning (which the MSM never does) to admit it's a "good first step" for enacting other gun legislation.

To this portion if we are going to build a
future with fewer guns I read, correctly, that registration to these creatures STRICTLY means, CONFISCATION.

Lookie, I would like to post something else but, I have to go to the store for more coffee creamer STRICTLY means I am drinking ...coffee...
Acquisitions thus far:

-Slingshot
-Butter knife
-Soda straw and peas
-Sharpened pencil
-Newspaper roll
--water balloon (*diversionary*)

Yeah, I'm that good

The first sentence is correct. If your goal is fewer guns in the US, then UBCs are not enough. That’s just common sense.

But the second sentence is not. There are many more guns in the US today, with many more being legally-carried, and lower gun crime rates, than in the 1990s. Data says no, that is either a fantasy or there is another motive.

Here's your sign!
Background checks ARE the registry.
Get it through your thick heads, "conservatives".

Trump is going to sell us out in a yuge way. Bigly. Buhlieve me. Buhlieve me.

They don't really want you dead, just subservient.

Same thing.

I'd argue that they do want you dead. They would rather see you lying on the ground in a pool of your own blood than allow you to at least have a chance to defend yourself. After all, criminals have rights too and they shouldn't have to face such "terrible", permanent consequences while simply doing what they do. They are not evil they are simply misguided and/or misunderstood. They were just starting to turn their life around, can't have their victim putting the brakes on their turning their life around.

FIW! The greatest weapon against tyranny. It can be used against them but can't be used against you.

Freedom I Won't !!!

Eric Frank Russell explained this in a section of the 1962 scifi novel The Great Explosion named "And then there were none."

Four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, ammo - use in that order.
If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.
