Sen Sasse is not a fan of the Trumpster:
Republican Sen. Ben Sasse excoriated President Trump in a telephone conference call with constituents this week, saying he had mishandled the coronavirus response, "kisses dictators' butts," "sells out our allies," spends "like a drunken sailor," mistreats women, and trash-talks evangelicals behind their backs.
I'd add how he sells out the NRA/pro RKBA constituency.

Amy Coney Barret was always on his list of 25 from 2016. The additional 20 names didn't bump that original list. This was spelled out in media reports at the time so shouldn't have been a surprise. Honestly what I care most about is someone that will uphold the constitution, especially the second amendment.

In that there appears to be evidence that she will. She is Scalia's legacy after all so it stands to reason (though never guaranteed unfortunately).

Still all this may be moot if Biden packs the supreme court.

Biden says the American voter deserves to know his stand on packing the court and will tell the voters before election day.

This, of course, alienates all those who have voted early or will vote early as the Dems have advocated so much.

The best way to prevent Biden from packing the court is to ensure he doesn't get the chance. Go out and vote.

Think back to the euphoria of Trump being elected in 2016. Do you recall the list of Pro-RKBA agenda items you were hopeful, particularly with the GOP controlling the House and Senate, would be introduced and possibly enacted over the Trump presidency?

Flashback to reality: Ammoland has a GOA authored list of the Top 10 Trump Pro-RKBA accomplishments. (Spoiler Alert: Zero legislative successes are mentioned. Very few concrete positive accomplishments. The first two are SCOTUS justices and a promise to sign Natty Reciprocity.)

The big kaboom at the end is that, predictably, HRC was defeated...so it was as good as it was going to get that November 9th morning in 2016....

And, of course, this is the setup again...Biden/Harris is an existential threat to everything in the Republic and holding that off for another few years is simultaneously the floor and the ceiling.

I was never one of the people who thought actual pro gun legislation was going to be enacted, mainly due to RINO's in the Senate. Nor was I very concerned about the Democrats being able to push through a lot of anti gun legislation through the Senate at that time. My concern in 2016 was simpler than that. HRC said if she's elected that she had an anti gun litmus test for justices and Trump said he would nominate people from the Federalist society. Trump has kept his promise on that. It doesn't guarantee that SCOTUS will decide a gun case the right way but it's a heck of a lot better than having a majority of the court composed of RGB types who says the BOR only means what they personally want it to mean. The decision that said the 2nd is an individual right only happened because of one justice, so the type of person who sits on the court matters. You're never going to stop some cities or states from enacting unconstitutional laws so we need appeals courts and SCOTUS to deal with them.

Thanks to the potential issue of court packing if the Dem's retake the Senate (which in all likelihood they will) who the president is matters. If Biden is elected and the Dem's take the Senate, they run the whole board, and nothing will stop them from enacting whatever they want. Don't count on the 2nd amendment to stop this either. A 15 member SCOTUS with a lot of RBG types will uphold whatever they pass, will merely claim it doesn't violate the 2nd when it clearly does.

So yes, who wins the presidency and what party controls the Senate matters in 2020. Yes it's playing defense, but I'd rather play defense than lose altogether.

Not who, but what "party", right? (Don't think that Mr. Take the Guns first, then due process, will abstain from cutting deals with those in power on Capitol Hill)

I posted this in the Vote Fraud thread, but it equally applies here...we're only delaying the inevitable...perhaps making it more inevitable as only those educated prior to a certain date are continuing to exit voting rolls (and they're ones buying the defensive strategy). We're pushing the confrontation to a place where we will be less and less effective -- See the RNC absence of RKBA agenda.

Have you heard of militias? Have you heard of law enforcement?

But no, let's all vote. This is the most important selection of the wrestling heel of our lifetimes. And if your boy gets in, you can all go back to sleep...having exercised all of the power you've been allowed to have, until the next election is called.

Here's El Rushbo himself, as he exits the stage, attempting to convince you that voting is the pinnacle of civic duty, that all you can do regarding the future of the nation is vote. Not education, not raising your family, not building churches and communities, simply vote.
How simple is that? What a great reward for such a small inconvenience.
What can you do? Vote. It's THE thing that you can do.
It's the most important thing about the future of the country that you can do.
Your vote matters.
Power to the People, but only one day every so many years...

All your votes? Is that perhaps an admission :P

Win or lose, the aftermath should be interesting. I'm fully expecting the left to unleash their fury... are we ready for this wild ride because we are going along, like it or not.

When you went to bed Trump was ahead and the counting miraculously stopped. When you woke up it resumed, with Biden miraculously garnering Chavez-like totals in the dead of night. This is a coup.
Yet some pointed out a bizarre pick up in Michigan Biden votes, who picked up 138K votes without a single vote going to Trump:

SNIP

Said otherwise, as the Federalist's Sean Davis notes, Democrats in Michigan "magically" found a trove of 138,339 votes, and all 138,339 of those "votes" magically went to Biden?

So while everyone was asleep and after everyone went home, Democrats in Michigan magically found a trove of 138,339 votes, and all 138,339 of those "votes" magically went to Biden? That doesn't look suspicious at all. https://t.co/6w1MFoVhfg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
— Sean Davis (@seanmdav) November 4, 2020

A similar odd jump took place in Wisconsin:

At 6 AM this morning Joe Biden magically gained +100K votes in Wisconsin and Michigan!?!?!
There is zero explanation for this.
What is happening?
This is INSANE! pic.twitter.com/pIVHvA4nV9
— Benny (@bennyjohnson) November 4, 2020

SNIP

As a result, Biden is now a 75% odds-on favorite to win the presidency at Betfair, a dramatic reversal from earlier when Trump was seen as an 80%-odds favorite. Why? Because if Biden holds onto his lead in Nevada and Wisconsin, he would need to win only one of three states — Georgia, Michigan or Pennsylvania — to secure a majority of electoral votes, and could still lose North Carolina.

The 4 years of Trump began with great promises (aka LIES) and seemingly ends in Trump calling forth the national guard to violently repel his supporters, after being betrayed by Pence.

I know eight local "Trump supporters" who were in D.C. today. All report that it was Antifa poop stirrers who rushed in and did the violent stuff.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!
