"Guns Across America" Jan 19, 2013

Post by Birdman »

This is spreading quickly. Will this get traction? OFCC support?
Started by "Gun control = More Crime" and is now on Facebook, set for Jan 19th, 12pm CST (High Noon in the very Anti-gun California)
Hello patriots, it's Eric from "Gun Control = More Crime" again. "Guns Across America" is going to take place Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at "high noon." This is going to be a peaceful picketing protest against ANY, AND ALL future gun legislation. This is our chance to reach out to our elected officials, and tell them NO NEW GUN LAWS! "Guns Across America" is being tailored to happen in every states capital city, at their capital building. The theory behind doing this event on a Saturday, is most conservative gun owners work a typical Monday through Friday job. I'm hoping for a massive response by doing this on a weekend.
Guns Across America
Ohio does now have a (edit:possible) coordinator: Diane McFarren

Um, isn't some other group trying to get traction right now via Facebook about the same sort of thing being done early in February?

I can support and take part in one of these efforts but only if the state and national level gunrights groups either initiate or quickly get behind them. Useless to have a bunch of small, uncoordinated events held willy-nilly.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

So who's going? It's on a Saturday, so more people should be able to go. This one is also much sooner than the other rally that was planned. We will need to get the support out early to have more effect.

It looks like they're still looking for an organizer for Ohio: https://www.facebook.com/GunControlMoreCrime" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Apparently, January 19th is also Gun Appreciation Day. I just got this alert from the Ohio Liberty Council announcing that they have signed on as a sponsor of Gun Appreciation Day: http://www.ohiolibertycoalition.org/olc ... uary-19th/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's great that so many people are trying to organize against the Dictator in Chief's evil gun control plans, but somehow they need to get organized and coordinate this stuff.

I'm planning to go to the Statehouse on the 19th! Let's get a big crowd!

Fox news just reported on this as well. Said gun owners will be going to protest, shoot at ranges, buy guns and ammo, wearing 2a clothing, carrying copies of constitutions, and molan labe signs and such.

How about it OFCC? Time to get behind a rally on the 19th (on the sidewalk) at the Statehouse?

Often better to contact the OFCC Honchos via their e-mails, some/most do not peruse these forums regularaly, and time is short.

I'd love to revisit the Statehouse grounds, in spite of the potential for lousy weather. But I'm not up for the drive [edit] IF it appears the turnout numbers will be lame-o.

Well obviously the numbers will be lame-o if everyone takes that attitude. :roll: With the AWB coming up, we should all be very vocally standing up for our rights.

I have a certification exam that day. Too bad.
