That sums it up perfectly in just three short sentences.....and the "green weenies" will never even begin to have enough brain power to realize they are being used

Effective clean energy legislation will reduce carbon emissions and promote the production of renewable energy—but most importantly it will also ensure the competitiveness of domestic manufacturers, keep utility rates affordable, and create new jobs and industries. We must work to reduce our dependence on foreign oil by making America a global leader in clean energy manufacturing.

A growing consensus of scientists agree that human activities are contributing to rising sea levels, extreme weather, and climate change across the globe. As the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases, the United States has a clear obligation to be at the forefront of climate change policy. Without action, we risk our health and the health of future generations, the well-being of our coastal areas, and the productivity of our farms, forests, and fisheries.

As climate change legislation continues to be discussed in Congress, I will work to ensure that an unfair burden is not placed on Ohio families and businesses. During this time of economic turmoil, we must ensure that climate legislation is crafted so that it will create new jobs and economic opportunities across Ohio.

I will certainly keep your views in mind as this legislation moves through Congress. Thank you again for writing.

Sincerely,

Sherrod Brown
United States Senator

Tither, that letter looks strikingly similar to the one I received today, Voinovich will chose to ignore me as usual

Good article:

"Fielding has issued a challenge to the Obama White House to rebut the data. It will be a novel experience for them, as Fielding is an engineer and has an Australian's disregard for self-important government officials. Here is how The Age described his challenge:

Senator Fielding emailed graphs that claim the globe had not warmed for a decade to Joseph Aldy, US President Barack Obama's special assistant on energy and the environment, after a meeting on Thursday…. Senator Fielding said he found that Dr. Aldy and other Obama administration officials were not interested in discussing the legitimacy of climate science."

When I read something Sen. Sherrod Brown has written, my first thoughts are of a komrad reciting
the doctrine passed down by the politburo.

Yeah, the whole global warming thing is getting less and less believable. I'm not sure it hit 70 here, yesterday. Today's forecast high is 75. It's the third of July, for crying out loud. This feels more like September. I'm not complaining, I like Fall because it has stopped being hot. But the Earth "has a fever" is just silliness.

And Brown does sound like he's from the Politburo. I hope a good Republican wins next time around.

Ah, but the Earth First whiners would start yelling at you and calling you an idiot because you don't know the difference between weather and global climate, or some such drivel.

I'll see if I can dig up the article, there was a research done monitoring ocean temps a few years ago, trying to prove global warming. When one by one the sensors began showing that the ocean was actually cooling, they made the assumption that all the sensors were broken, threw out the data, and made their own conclusions based on what the sensors should have shown.

Never let hard facts get in the way of hysteria.

Remember the "gumshoe"- style detectives on the old tv shows ......... first, build a theory based on circumstances
and imagination, then go out and find some physical evidence that appears to fit the theory, disregarding that which doesn't. So, Al Gore did the same thing, then made a tv show out of his theory. Not bad for a disappointed Clinton wannabe. $$$

Getting a Nobel prize for an outright lie was a pretty slick move, too.

Real problem brewing is oil, or rather projected shortages:

http://peakoil.com/modules.php?name=New ... &sid=49666" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Seems more sensible to plan on using our coal while planning on transition to nuclear for electric, and work a bit harder on improving the cost efficiency and capacity for synthetic/bio fuel oil production, as its a superior alternative to electric/batteries for transportation; and stop lying/confusing folks about carbon/CO2 causing global warming, and solar and/or wind being our savior as by most measures they're inherently inviable alternatives; and nix the falsely justified cap-in-trade boondoggle.

There's your problem. You think they are actually trying to do the right thing.

Carbon control isn't about carbon, or global climate change. It's about control. It's about creating a dual-class system of SuperElites, and Vassals. The elimination of the middle class is the goal. Remember your Orwell? "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others."
