Need an Apartment Soon
I live in the apartment next to the condo in Rocky River that burned down a couple of weeks ago. The heat was so intense it burned out a couple of units to the north of me and broke the windows in my living room.
I got back in a week ago Friday, only to find out yesterday that everybody has to move out again because the rehab company won't work on the two destroyed units while anybody's in the building.
I was starting to look after I got back in because this place was a pit BEFORE the fire and hasn't improved (my living room window is now a sheet of plywood with a sliding bathroom window in it).
Does anybody know of a two bedroom apartment available in the west suburbs in the $650-$850 range? I'm looking at Rocky River, Lakewood, Westlake, Fairview Park, North Olmsted, etc.
Not looking for anything fancy, just something reasonably well maintained and close to my job in Westlake.
It HAS to be a two bedroom apartment since I have more than ten shelves full of books. The living room and one bedroom (at least) will be mostly bookshelves.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That's a bummer.
I can't tell any good places to look but I can tell you one to stay away from. Stay away from the Jamestown Apartments at Columbia and Brookpark. I have a scanner and the police are over there a lot which doesn't say much for the type of people living there.
If you do look in Lakewood, I would stay west of Bunts Road. The eastern part has gone downhill since my wife and I lived there between 1978-1982.

Thanks. I know the area from my innumerable trips to Great Northern back when they had bookstores and CompUSA.rickt wrote:That's a bummer.

Update: I read some of the reviews. Geeze, that place is less popular than the past two seasons of Doctor Who! Thanks for the warning!

I lived at Ranch Village in Parma Heights for a few years before my wife and i were married. Was nice enough, and the layout was pretty good. Had my own entrance front and back, nobody above me (single story for three of the 9 apartments in each building), and my back door opened to a large yard, or common area, that was right on Big Creek Parkway. At that time I was paying $450 for a two bed room, not sure what they would be now since it's been around 15 years since I was there.

I also don't recommend Jamestown Apartments, I have heard of some bad rumors there from my friend who live close to that place.
