Our friend sabalo has passed away.

Post by Brian D. »

I saw that elsewhere and confirmed before posting this. Harry Bryan was a longtime member of OFCC and served as a coordinator for our organization. Apparently Harry didn't want any sort of announcement regarding his passing. But it was back in early June I believe, and was just posted to Facebook. So I don't see the harm if anyone here has a story involving sabalo. Besides the PITPs, I met him only a few other times. Always suspected his efforts for OFCC were of the "behind the scenes" variety. Perhaps those who knew him better would like to share a story or two. Otherwise it seems to me that he'd become nothing but a lost memory, and that would be a darn shame.

I also enjoyed his presence here on our forums, it is sad to hear of his passing.
I like to swap brass... and I'm looking for .32 H&R Mag, .327 Fed Mag, .380 Auto and 10mm. If you have some and would like to swap for something else, send me a note!

Sad news. He'll be missed here. And elsewhere, I'm sure.

I never met him face to face, although I have been to his home more than once.
He would leave things on his front porch, donations for the prize table at PITP, and one time a visitors badge so I could go mushroom hunting in the woods of his private community neighborhood.
He never answered the door, but would send me security video of me waving at his cameras.

He and I chatted a lot on Facebook, and I trusted his judgement.
RIP Harry

He did make it to the Picnic a time or two, years back. Also, he hosted a meet and greet at a restaurant in Newark, very early on. I think we were griping about the "plain sight in a vehicle" poison pill in the original licensing law. And brainstorming about how to get it removed.
