a little perspective on the recent heat wave of July 2019

Post by M-Quigley »

When I watched the evening tv news that past few days (7/19/19 to 7/21) it talked about deaths in Chicago (one report said six the other nine) with a heat index of 110, and every news organization had some supposed expert claiming global warming was responsible, with one so called expert saying if we don't quickly enact the new green deal, it will get worse and worse each year until we reach an almost extinction level event in 14 years.

Not one mainstream news organization that I saw then covered a little Chicago history. In 1995 (22 years ago) Chicago had real temps of 106, heat index's of 148, and over 700 heat related deaths in 5 days. It was supposedly not even the record heat either. That happened allegedly in 1934.

Huh... the media making off-the-cuff non-researched remarks? Who’d have thunk it?
