I would give it about a 70% chance. Especially if some other bill comes along that the police are against, like a gun rights bill. Then they will just tack this on as an appeaser.steves 50de wrote:Any chance this will pass.

I didn't think they could do that? Don't bills in Ohio need to be restricted to a single (albeit potentially broad) subject?JediSkipdogg wrote:I would give it about a 70% chance. Re: Front License Plate
That is true, but they also do it with separate bills and just have all their hearings match so one passes the other passes right behind it. Where there's a will, there's a way.JustaShooter wrote:I didn't think they could do that? You know why it's a safety issue? Because a front license plate is the best target for a traffic laser.....

Re: Front License Plate
The other excuse I heard (from friend of mine that is a Trooper) is that there's a chance a hit-skip driver will leave behind their front plate.dustymedic wrote:You know why it's a safety issue? Because a front license plate is the best target for a traffic laser.....
Yeah...nope. To me, this is, and has always been, one more reason to conduct traffic stops. Particularly on I-75 with out-of-state drivers from state's that may not require a front plate. And no amount of incidental reasons will convince me otherwise.

Makes it possible for the plate readers to read oncoming as well as parked cars.
Totally useless, waste of space, irrelevant, sig.

Re: Front License Plate
And of course Southern California & New York City have low crime rates because those states have front plates......

Without a front plate traffic cameras would be useless. That's too much money for some to give up

Don't front license plates prevent mass shootings?

Re: Front License Plate
In the past I went a few years without a front plate. However, there is a lot of Kentucky traffic here so a significant percentage of the cars are legal without one.
