Armslist Scams
Thought I might give a heads-up to an apparent scam on Armslist...
There is a Taurus Raging Bull 454 Casull listed for sale in the Toledo area. It was listed on 6 February 2019 for the price of $650 (a really good price, btw). I contacted the seller and the first response I received was that he was no longer in Toledo, but had moved to Norcross, Georgia. Red Flag # 1. However, after some back and forth, he assured me that he would ship to an FFL and sent some additional pictures. Of course, his preferred payment method was "Walmart to Walmart" (whatever that is) or USPS money order. He also added, "Kindly ensure the mail is signature on delivery and also I will need tracking number to know date and time of delivery." Red Flag #2 and #3.
So I asked him to send me a picture of the gun next to a spoon. Why a spoon? Just a random item to see how he would respond.
This is the picture he sent:
Now, I'm no forensics expert, but I've seen some photoshops in my day. Just sayin'... Anyway, if, like me, you might be intrigued by a good price on a really good firearm, this is probably not the one you want to pursue.

Can I get dibs on the spoon?
I like to swap brass... and I'm looking for .32 H&R Mag, .327 Fed Mag, .380 Auto and 10mm. If you have some and would like to swap for something else, send me a note!

Heck! The spoon is what I'm after at this point. It may be the only thing of value.Sevens wrote: Can I get dibs on the spoon?
As a follow up - the scammer is actually asking if I'm still interested. I may have to screw with him for a bit...

Re: Armslist Scams
The best part is that, after looking closely, you can estimate the gun seller just set his phone down on a gun store display and shot the photo (note tag, display case light reflection, minor glass softening of the image).
I’d EDIT to add: That is what you get with Taurus folk, but Morne would object if I said that. Did I say that out loud?
