Never shot those....that I can remember anyway.
Do they smell like the golden bullet?
All I remember was they were jam-o-matic.

This brings me to an "I've got good news and bad news" moment:

Today I was at the new Field & Stream store in northern Kentucky.
The good news? They had some 500 ct. bricks of .22 LR high velocity ammo for $23 each.
The bad news? They were Remington Thunderbolts.

My Marlin lever action rifle doesn't hate that particular ammo, so yeah I got one brick of it. But unless I feel a need to practice malfunction clearance drills, none of it's getting fed into any of my semiautos.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

Hmm...I'm now 90% certain I've never shot any thunderbolts and 100% certain golden bullets smell funny.

New Remington Golden bullets leave a nasty waxy mess inside my semi-autos and I attribute that to the malfunctions I get with that ammo. I only shoot it from my vintage Remington Targetmaster and it does fine with them but that's it.

It's really too bad, I have some Remington Hi-Speed "Golden Bullets" (Kleanbore) from the 1960's era and it functioned excellently in all my 22lr guns the last I shot some of it. I'm not sure what Remington is doing with their current production but it is terrible by comparison to what they used to make.

Remington Thunderbolts are the only thing in .22lr Linda can find for her Beretta mousegun, so we just keep lot'sa lube in it and it shoots fine that way.

Why is it that the H&R Sportsman Top-Break is going for so much money right now? A 9-shot 22lr revolver can't be in that much demand, nobody has ammo for it!

Why do companies selling shop lights advertise that they have cords and plugs on the box, and they are 6" long? Worthless...
