Shootout at barber shop in Dayton

Post by M-Quigley »

AK-47 at ten feet? 14 rounds with one leg wound? That's supposedly not even counting how many the alleged victim fired back. According to the victim the attacker was hit, but no mention of the alleged attacker needing any medical treatment prior to jail. It doesn't mention if the customer is a legal concealed carrier but no mention of any charges against the customer.

DAYTON — A Dayton man is facing charges after police said he fired 14 shots at a man while he was getting his haircut at a barbershop on Salem Avenue Thursday.

Deelaquan Smith, 20, is charged with two courts of felonious assault for the shooting at FamFirst barbershop at 3137 Salem Ave. around 1:20 p.m.

According to the victim, he was getting a haircut when Smith “came in the barber shop and shot him in the leg.”

The victim said he returned fire and hit Smith.

“Smith enters the barbershop with (an) AK47 style rifle under a hooded sweat shirt,” court records read, referring to video police obtained from the business. “Smith took the hooded sweat shirt off the rifle and pointed it at (the victim).”

Police said the victim was sitting in a barber chair about 10 feet from Smith with the gunfire happened.

After the shooting Smith ran off, but was eventually arrested. He’s currently in the Montgomery County Jail.

Smith pleaded not guilty to the charges Monday and was appointed a public defender. His bond was set at $50,000.

Two observations:
1) The victim is very lucky Deelaquan was lacking in marksmanship.
2) What do you have to do in Dayton to get more than a $50K bond?

I hear recently of one councilperson in Dayton that allegedly wants cash bonds to be done away with entirely, claims is racist and misogynist. :?: The misogynist part allegedly has something to do the burden of coming up with the bail generally falls on women, with women not having the $$$ to bail out their sons or their babies daddy.

It is woke crap. The gun grabbing liberals don't care about blacks killing blacks...its not useful for them to maintain power. If this was at a suburban mall they would have him held without bond and villified with calls for gun control.

If it was a cop....
God,
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can
and the Wisdom to know the difference.

Carrying a gun is a right, not a crime.

Gun control is racist.
