This version makes it sound like she was outside with the purse.

IF she was inside and not even holding the purse, it would make a great story for helping getting rid of notification.

Story said local PD took the firearm and carry license. I thought only the sheriff's office could seize a CHL? Oh well it's not like the cops will get in trouble even if they violated the law or the woman's rights or whatnot.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

I don't even think she is legally required to notify in her own home.
From ORC 2923.12:
(C)(1) This section does not apply to any of the following:
(d) A person's storage or possession of a firearm, other than a firearm described in divisions (G) to (M) of section
2923.11
of the Revised Code, in the actor's own home for any lawful purpose.

Supposedly she made a statement that she didn't remember much from the classes. Just a general note: If you are in a class, pay attention.
God,
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can
and the Wisdom to know the difference.

Carrying a gun is a right, not a crime.

Gun control is racist.

The way I read it was they were placing the guy in the car when they found out she had a CHL. It never says where she or the purse was. It looks to me like the cops overstepped. Why did they radio in for a check on her?

I reached out to her lawyer to offer any assistance I could. The case was dismissed last week. Gun and CHL returned.

That is awesome news! Any word on the officer getting remedial training on CHL laws?

That never came up. I would hope the prosecutor would talk w/ him, but who knows.
