Perhaps I should clarify.
I am anti-tribalism because it boils Logic and Reason out of an argument, leaving a faux binary choice.
I'm not a fan of Ad hominem attacks for this reason, and consciously attempt to avoid them.
Yes, I too am for separation of church and state, but not the way you might agree. I believe
Grace Community Church should be able to function without the State of California attempting to shut it down. The role of the church is to care for the spirit of the nation, on an individual and family basis. What we have now is governments binding consciences under threat of law, while the church has no enforcement mechanism and is therefore strictly voluntary (in the marketplace of ideas, it would be a free market). This voluntary influencing of one's conscience is preferred. Certainly the church should help educate and raise students in such a way to produce less corrupt/morally upstanding legislators, judges, cops, etc.
America has a rich history of
basing law on Bibilical principles which generate freedom, much the opposite of the Quaran you cite.
I was making the point that Neither Trump nor Biden operate on American principles. The Patriot Act or more terrorist attacks is a similarly false choice. What should be discussed every 4 years is our commitment to the
principles of our nation and how to best execute / perpetuate them.
In the Taylor case, there are many less risky ways to execute a search warrant that could still uphold Justice. I'm with you that the War on Drugs which generated these tactics is unjust. I'm not for criminalizing the mere possession of substances. This is consistent with my opposition of GCA/NFA and possessing inert pieces of plastic now considered "Machine Guns". I agree with you on the availability of the death penalty. Government is given the sword to be a terror to evil. The church is not. This defines the separation.
