Heavily armed police and the Kenton County SWAT team stood ready for an hours long standoff on Rosary Drive, responding to a 911 call stating someone inside the home was in distress. The incident finally came to an end after investigators were able to make contact with the woman inside and realized there was no real threat.
Police believe there was only one person inside the home at the time. Family members told WLWT the only person inside was the homeowner, a 75-year-old widow who was terrified when she saw her home was surrounded. Family members say they tried calling her, but she had not heard her phone and was asleep during at least part of the standoff.
