CT Bill to put 50% sales tax on ammo

Post by kcclark »

Rep Jillian Gilchrest is behind this. Her Tweet about it indicates she is either purposely trying to hide how big the increase is or she does not understand the difference. Bill says "increase the rate of the sales and use taxes on ammunition to fifty per cent" but her Tweet says "a 50% tax increase on ammunition." A third option is CT is already charging 33.3% sales tax on ammo but I doubt that. ;)
I’m hearing push back about the need to protect one's home... but how much ammunition does someone really need to do that?
I always love non-gun owners telling me how much ammo I need. Never crosses their mind that somebody might actually practice shooting.

I expect that the folks at Dillon and a few others are celebrating this :) .

I bought a high-end (but not the top end) Dillon right before Zero was re-elected. No regrets.

The idiot who thinks you only need a few rounds to protect your family is being a little unreasonable, and she doesn't understand practice. Without that, you're a danger to everybody.

Hopefully, they'll toss this one quickly, but....

Regards,
Stu.

(Why write a quick note when you can write a novel?)

(Why do those who claim to wish to protect me feel that the best way to do that is to disarm me?)

That will probably go through, if the ammo tax in Seattle is any indication.
