Because the phone's in the car and you have to read something while on the throne. /sarcasm
I've had consistently good results with ether.

Is that what happened? I didn't see it in the link. Did the person even have a holster?

Even if the person did unholster it, shouldn't they be able to holster or unholster their handgun without it discharging? I've probably unholstered and holstered a handgun 50 thousand times in my life and never negligently discharged one yet, and I'm guessing many on here have a similar number.

If you don't unholster it, how can you do your training while sitting on the throne ? Have to make that downtime useful somehow, so you might as well train.
you can practice transitions by aim at TP holder, changing table, coat hook, door latch and do Magazine reloads with retention. Dry fire and vocal commands are even an option.

I would hope no-one thinks this is actually a serious response. I too am mystified by the number of times this type of ND happens..

*Sigh*
Free people do not need State approved training to exercise their natural Rights. Let's not normalize the concept that the Glorious and Gracious State that provides us our Rights could do a better job training us on how to be better citizens.

You're confusing the requirements for training with the benefits of training. Don't make the one the enemy of the other.

According to News 7 just now. A contributing factor to his accident. He was using a holster that was not designed for his gun, and he had paper packed in the holster to make it fit!

Gee Whiz! I've been accused by a few of being cheap at times (I prefer to call it thrifty) but even I am not that cheap. (particularly when it comes to a critical safety issue. ) :(

I do have words, courtesy of Bill Engvall: "Here's your sign!"
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

And one from Ron White :"You can't fix Stupid !"

But have his weapons to hand:
He knows not when he may need a spear,
Or what menace meet on the road.
