Where do we make the jump to "animals" and carnival folk? The crime is heinous, but lets not put the innocent-until-proven-guilty criminal in a national, racial, ethnic, socio-econimic stereotype just yet, huh?
Yes, that went for Jerry Sandusky also (he's been adjudicated and found guilty).

I worked the county fair when I was young. Wide variety of people, some good, some bad. Vendors are a different group of folks. The ones I knew were decent.

The cotton candy vendor is a sex offender.
The guy selling candy to your children is a sex offender.
A 15-year-old child punched a sex offender.
The 69-year-old sex offender was punched by a child.
The sex offender is in critical condition and may die!
I want to pay for this child's college education! I can't, but I want to.

Re: Cotton candy vendor in critical condition
If the sex offender was attempting to assault the 15 year old, then sure. If he was simply selling cotton candy, then his past record has very little to do with the case. Not the best choice of employment for a sex offender, but making poor career choices does not warrant being almost killed.MyWifeSaidYes wrote:The cotton candy vendor is a sex offender.

Re: Cotton candy vendor in critical condition
The good or bad of the punched or puncher is not relevant.
What is relevant is the demonstration that a single punch from a juvenile caused sever bodily harm to a 68 year old man. Fear of death or sever bodily harm, sounds awful close to qualifying for the use of deadly force in self defense. I believe that is the issue the OP was trying to get across.
As pointed out in this thread already - there are numerous pieces of information we do not have about this case. However at the surface there is something we can take from this. A single blow to the head can be very dangerous.
