XENIA — Thieves stole hand sanitizer, toilet paper and other items from a chiropractor’s office in Xenia sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning, according to police.
An employee of Dr. Robert D. Boike's chiropractor office on Bellbrook Avenue called officers after finding the door unlocked and items inside the office tossed around.
Police said they discovered paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, hand sanitizer and loose change missing.
"Very odd that someone would break into a chiropractor's office to steal paper products. hand soap and sanitizer,” Xenia police Sgt. Scott Beegle said. “Very out of the normal for us. Very unusual for us."

Re: Corona virus
And what drives me nut with the stats are Dewine is in panic because on Saturday we have 247 cases and on Sunday 351. Here's my issue with that. We only started testing in Ohio about 8-9 days ago. Even now, I still think we have less than a handful of testing centers. And of those that we have, people are being selectively tested because we don't have enough testing supplies.rickt wrote:475 people died in one day from the virus in Italy yesterday.

So the jump from Saturday to Sunday can't be a true rate of the increase because we are limiting testing and deciding who gets tested. We started testing in Cleveland and it took Cincinnati 3-4 days later before they had ONE testing center. Well duh, on day 3 or 4, cases are going to jump, and on each day we add a testing center, cases will jump. Also, if we only test the more dire, cases will jump.
We are essentially skewing and making our own stat. The number is not an accurate representation of anything.

Italy's wonDerFUl 1st rate
social medicine systems ^^ is now turning ppl away over 60 yrs old.
To a professional with her pulse on the medical system I would certainly hope Dr Acton would/could.../should know that.
Italy is NO LONGER a viable model to cite, they are creating and exacerbating their death #s due to ...incompetence.
Shucks maybe after this subsides we can finally put TB to rest...

Things might be getting crazy in Cali. This is a lot worse than what happened in Xenia.

un racks have been stripped as bare as the supermarket aisles in Britain. And in the queue in Corona outside Turner’s gun store last week were many people who have never considered owning a firearm before.
Men such as Sean Rodriguez, 48, a sales manager, who felt compelled to arm himself after his eldest daughter called him in tears when robbers, posing as utility workers, entered her home and raided her fridge at gunpoint, seizing difficult-to-obtain groceries.

Re: Corona virus
IDK if this is funny, sad, or pathetic, but today when I went to a store at a strip mall, there was about 12 people standing closely in front of the store entrance. There's a bus stop located there. I parked my car, took a gulp of water from a water bottle, and got out of the car. After I got out I was trying to swallow the water and it didn't go down smoothly, As I was walking toward the store entrance I was coughing forcefully. People were staring at me in terror, like I was carrying an AK47 at port arms. As I got closer the group split down the middle. It was like I was Moses parting the Red Sea. Everyone in the group gave me more than the 6 ft distance as I entered the store.

Tried out the Shop on-line/pick at Kroger thing today. Very smooth operation. Place the order, select a pick up time/date. Day of pick-up received an email from Kroger, some items were unavailable, some they had substitutes for. Pull into a pick-up parking slot behind the store, call the phone # on the sign & they bring out & load your stuff. Young lad that brought our stuff out refused a $10 tip, not allowed he said.
5 stars, will shop there again.

Re: Corona virus
A long time ago I heard someone say in regard to answers, "Do you want the quick answer or the right one?" Or "Do you want the cheap product
or the good product?" Although I'm leery of things I hear or read on the MSM, I heard something interesting on the Monday evening TV news. (sorry I don't have a link) One of the things I've read or heard (and I had this same question myself) was why was it other countries could have massive testing much earlier than the US, why use an FDA approved test at all, just use the foreign tests. There is a US vendor that is selling test kits from China to medical facilities who are frustrated with getting FDA approved tests. The reporter asked him about the accuracy rate and he replied 88%. That means a 12% error rate. I've heard from other sources that the FDA found a much higher rate, like 45%, but just for the sake of argument lets say the vendor is accurate.
Twelve people out of a hundred are going to receive false positives or false negatives. That's a pretty high error rate for a diagnostic test.
Imagine you or a loved one were one of the unlucky 12. Granted, if it were to really make a life or death difference in the treatment of the symptoms,
88% might be good enough in an extreme emergency, but the experts I've heard say in the case of COVID-19 testing does not make a big difference at this moment in time, at least in regard to treatment. Regardless, a medical provider is still advised to rule out flu first (the tests for it are out there and quick) and if that's negative, you still have to treat what you can of the symptoms regardless of whether a COVID-19 test is + or - or available or not.
One thing I've not found yet though is what is the error rate of the FDA approved test, because no test, even if the sample is collected and stored correctly, is 100 % accurate.

^^^^^^^^^^^^ this. What you said is very similar to what I heard a virologist say. In addition he said there could potentially be many people in the US who had COVID-19 weeks ago, assumed it was the flu, didn't have major symptoms requiring hospitalization, (like the majority who get COVID-19) and never got tested, so they don't count in the statistics.JediSkipdogg wrote:

Kroger has now made this service free and no minimum order. (at least in my area).
Will be trying Walmart's service today.

Re: Corona virus
I'll be interested to see after all the Corona stuff passes how many changes to our usual routines become permanent changes. Is grocery pickup going to be the new fad? How about carryout for restaurants until a week ago never or rarely offered it?Face wrote:Same heretechmike wrote:Tried out the Shop on-line/pick at Kroger thing today. Very smooth operation. I don't know about OH but here in KY we now have a brown shirt hotline. A friend shared a news link that had posted a pic stating if you see something or see someone out of compliance of the kungflu state orders call the following number to report them. I'm sorry when did we become the Nazi?

Open Carry, shhh it's a dirty secret.

I saw somewhere that Ohio is only reporting positive cases, not negative tests. That may skew the data. I also saw that the rate of Influenza-Like-Illness, in which people were found negative for flu but had flu symptoms, was much higher in January and February than it had been in several years.M-Quigley wrote:^^^^^^^^^^^^ this. Re: Corona virus
My daughter (18 months old) was tested twice, three days apart. First test was negative, second test was positive. And the first test was about 2.5 days after being exposed to the kids at the sitter that also tested positive the day before my daughter tested negative. Funny thing is I was told by one doctor the flu test is about 50% accurate and another one that it is 100% accurate. Ain't nothing 100% accurate.Mustang380gal wrote:I saw somewhere that Ohio is only reporting positive cases, not negative tests. That may skew the data. I should clarify that the ODH is not reporting negatives to the CDC. I will try to find the reference later.
