Greetings everyone.
I've been lurking for a while and decided to join.
I'm a former Military Working Dog trainer and handler. Freshly retired from the Army. Working my way back into the civilian world. I applied for my CHL 3 weeks ago, and haven't heard back yet. My wife got hers the same day she applied. It's kind of comical because I'm still technically active duty (on terminal leave) with a secret clearance, and my application is delayed.
I appreciate the volumes of experience and information available here. I've learned a considerable amount just reading through the forum.

And, I've heard that the "Secret" clearance inevitably causes a delay. Don't know why that would be, but that's what I've heard.

I don't understand it. I went through a considerable background check to obtain my clearance (was TS). Why that wouldn't be sufficient for a CHL is beyond me.JustaShooter wrote:Welcome to OFCC!

We've seen some squeaky clean folks that had to wait almost the full 45 days before getting their license, so don't sweat it.
