Re: New In scioto County
Welcome!! This is the one time it's ok to call ahead. I can say that for me I saved more than a month by calling my local sheriff, getting an appointment for more than a month away, and proceeded to call all of my adjacent counties making appointments each a little sooner than the last. In the end I found that Madison county would take walk-ins some days of the week. It may save time to pay attention to each ones policy also. Several of them give one appointment in which you set a date for another appointment. Best of luck and welcome to the forum!

Hello and welcome..
I'd suggest that you call each sheriff's office and ask what their turn around has been lately. Getting input is great - but I'm an impatient critter.
You may be able to get a feel for who you are dealing with as well(pleasant or maybe-not-so) which could influence your decision on where to go.
I opted for Madison county based on my location and their non-appt schedule.

Welcome to the forums Josh!
I am originally from Scioto county, and still have family there. The last I heard, the Scioto county sheriff was taking up to about 25-30 days to get your license to you - but they do mail it out.
I am not sure about the surrounding counties time windows right now - I haven't heard any recent feedback. Also, don't forget that you can go to Lawrence county as well. Just a quick trip down Rt 52 into Ironton, depending on where you are in Scioto county.
