Check out a variety of pistols. I carry a Smith & Wesson SD40VE. It's a full size pistol, but my holster carries it well. You could check out the M&P Shields, or other smaller weapons. But remember one thing, the smaller in size the pistol is, the more felt recoil you will have. And that may limit your willingness to practice at the range. Hit Fin, Feather, and Fur by Belden Village Mall, or Kame's on Cleveland Ave in Canton to get your hands on some different pistols. One I ended up loving how it shot was the Glock 26. It still has a thick frame and slide, but the grip is shorter to help it conceal better. Or if you want to go smaller in size and caliber, check out something like the Bersa Thunder 380.

Thanks for the welcomes. I'm going to look into the M&P line of pistols soon, and I'm hoping to get some time at a range with my brother in law's sd40ve.

I carry an SD40VE. I love this pistol! Not too bad with it either. Here's my target from a couple weeks ago. I was at Ohio Armament in Strasburg. They have a pretty nice range and shop there. This was approx 70-80 rounds between my SD40VE, Glock 19, and Glock 26. I know there is some spraying there, but I was doing some rapid fire shots on some of them. Most shots had about 1-2 seconds between them. If you like that SD40VE, I was in Gander Mountain on Portage last week and they had a used one in the case for $249.99.

I prefer sigs too, but it's not in the budget at the moment.

Anthem bass man, I'm making a trip to ohio armament probably on the 21st to try out my dad's sccy 9mm and take a look at what they have there. I may have to stop by gander since it is on my way home from work tonight.

Nice place to shoot.

Had a friend of mine there who let me use his PT111 and Beretta 92 (LOVE the Beretta)

Also shot my Dad's SCCY 9mm, but preferred the PT111 to it.

And my wife shot a pistol for the first time, too.

Took my Meriden model 10 rolling block that was passed down to me to see if it would still shoot, but it is now a wall hanger. I don't trust the mechanics or the FTFs I have had the last 3 times out.

Still trying to figure out what I will carry that will fit my needs and wants equally.
