Hello. Name is J from lorain ohio. 33 years old and have had my carry permit since 2004. I've been lurking here for some time and decided to actually join in on the conversation.

Welcome aboard, J. Glad you decided to dive into the water.

I appreciate you carrying for the last 10 years, as I believe an Armed Citizen benefits all of society.

I would love to say I've actually carried for the last 10 years but that's not quite true. After getting out of the army in 2003 my first job was pizza delivery. In a city like lorain i welcomed being able to carry at work but usually didn't when off of work. After it expired i didn't bother to renew it until after i got sober.

Got pulled over in 2011 and the cop asked me if i was carrying to which i responded that it had expired so i wasn't carrying. Apparently it still shows up when your plate is ran. So he then tells me I'm required to inform him even if I'm not carrying. (Dude it expired a couple years ago lol) I didn't argue that point very much with him on the side of the road even though I knew he was wrong.

Needless to say i decided to renew it. And the whole sandy hook and Boston bombing was what really made me choose to get more active in my rights and had have since gone to full time carry when possible.
