Was blindsided by this one, not familiar with any of the candidates for today's election. Anyone have insight ?

Sorry, I am of no help. Sadly, I joined the 94% who didn't care enough to venture to a voting booth.

Can't help you with that (especially because I'm late to the party), but offering this:

I use this website to see 1) Who and what are going to be on my ballot, and 2) Many times the candidates will reply to the questionnaires the site puts out, and you can get a glimpse of their platform views.

Of course with 1) in hand, you can do your own research on them ahead of voting.

Normally I grab the ballot from the county voting site so I can review everything ahead of time, but I wasn't aware this special election was coming up till the day of, so didn't have as much time to do my research as I would normally like. Hope I made the right choices with the limited info I was able to find.
