SB 215 (constitutional carry) moves one step closer

Post by JustaShooter »

Yesterday, the House Government Oversight Committee held Proponent Testimony for Senate Bill 215, Senator Terry Johnson's Constitutional Carry bill. Our very own Chuck LaRosa offered in-person testimony. The testimony was recorded and can be seen here https://www.ohiochannel.org/video/ohio- ... e-2-9-2022" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
(Chuck's portion begins about 10:30).

The bill has passed the Senate and is now moving quickly through the House Committee and will hopefully be sent to the House floor for a vote soon.

The text of the bill can be found here: https://search-prod.lis.state.oh.us/sol ... format=pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Governor Mike DeWine holds 34% of support, followed by farmer Joe Blystone with 20%, and former Congressman Jim Renacci with 9%; with 36% undecided in who they will vote for in the gubernatorial election.
If 215 passed, would these numbers move in DeWhine's favor?

Probably not - I bet the few pro-gun people that have any chance of voting for DeWine are anti-constitutional carry. I don't think it helps him (but I bet his advisers are telling he he *has* to sign it or at least let it become law without his signature or he doesn't have a chance at reelection.) Oh, and personally, I think there is something wrong with that poll - It is unheard of for a candidate to swing 30 points in a couple of weeks, but that's what this poll is saying happened to Renacci.
