Post by rickt »

H. B. No. 658 - Representative Galonski (D).

To amend sections 109.78, 2923.11, and 2923.122 of the Revised Code to require firearms training for school employees approved to convey firearms into a school safety zone.

Now that I have read the bill this may not be a bad thing. It overrides the recent idiotic court ruling requiring school employees to have the same training as LEO ( https://www.buckeyefirearms.org/madison ... reme-court ) and it looks like BFA's FASTER training would qualify school employees.

Didn't read it. Don't care to read it after the start version on your post. Just divide the people by making another protected class.

Requiring something like FASTER is more than should be required. Yes, they should get training - and the school system should offer / reimburse them for it. But if they are legally able to carry a concealed handgun they should be allowed to carry in their schools, whatever the current requirements are including if Ohio goes unlicensed carry.

Looks like the Ohio Supreme Court just ruled against the notion of armed staff in schools. :x Now what?
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

This is absolutely nuts and in my opinion contrary to the actual written law. Folks, this is what happens when you elect Democrats to the Ohio Supreme Court. When the next election comes around, do your research and educate your friends - this should never have happened.

Off the top of my head, weren't we also torpedoed by one of the "Republican" Ohio Supremes here?
