HB 228 and firing a weapon within city limits

Post by TJW815 »

Locally on the book of faces there is a rumor going around that HB228 gave people the ability to have backyard firing ranges within city limits.

Now, I skimmed the bill and didn’t see it, can someone wiser than me confirm that it’s not in there?

I am not an expert but doubt it would be allowed with a "real" firearm. Maybe an airsoft or bb gun etc in a city but doubt it also.

I'm very familiar with this legislation, and I do not know of any provision that would change a city's ability to prohibit discharging a firearm within the city limits - it certainly wasn't the legislators' intent.
