H.B. 381: Stand Your Ground

Post by rickt »

Considering how the phrase "stand your ground" has been vilified by the media since the Trayvon Martin shooting, are these legislators being tone deaf naming this bill? I noticed that BFA prefers using the phrase "no duty to retreat".
H. B. No. 381 - Representatives Keller (R), Hood (R).
Cosponsors: Representatives Manning, D. (R), Vitale (R), Becker (R), Riedel (R), Lang (R), Cross (R), Dean (R), Brinkman (R), Plummer (R), Jones (R), Grendell (R), Antani (R), Merrin (R), Zeltwanger (R), Stoltzfus (R), Lipps (R), McClain (R), Powell (R), Manchester (R), Jordan (R), Richardson (R), Smith, T (R).

To amend sections 2307.601, 2901.05, and 2901.09 and to enact sections 2901.091 and 2901.092 of the Revised Code to enact the Ohio Stand Your Ground Act to modify the law regarding self-defense.

Must be an election cycle coming up in a year or so 8)

Slide drawer #5 out, up pops the weasel, box it back up after said election cycle.

REMEMBER, vote for ''us'', not them, them will not pass this bill( that we have not passed B4). LoL
Acquisitions thus far:

-Slingshot
-Butter knife
-Soda straw and peas
-Sharpened pencil
-Newspaper roll
--water balloon (*diversionary*)

Yeah, I'm that good

24 Rs out of 61 are listed as sponsors/cosponsors
27 more and the bill passes...sounds good on it's face.

Anyone think DeWhine would actually sign this?
