Folks,

OFCC is planning an Advocacy Day at the Statehouse in Columbus for around the end of October / early November.
It is being headed up by our new Legislative Coordinator Tom, who doesn't belong to the forums, (yet), and communicates mostly through email.
If you are interested in joining us this time, and having input on which day is chosen, please PM me your email addresses and I will forward them to Tom.

Volunteering for this sort of activism is ideal for newly retired folks who are worried about our grandchildren's freedom.
We need help in every aspect of the cause, from fund raising to fighting illegal signs at county fairs, to talking legislators and everything in between

Last Wednesday OFCC held an Advocacy Day where we met with at least 14 Senators and 35 Representatives in the House. We discussed passing SYG and Constitutional Carry and blocking Red Flag bills, even those that call themselves "pink slips".
We used four teams of three people who drove in from all over the state, and had a VERY LONG day

One thing nearly all the legislators mentioned was our participation in the legislative process. Phone calls, letters, emails, testimony, and attendance at committee hearings mean quite a bit, even if you're not testifying.
Having a lot of pro gun people in the room when an anti gun sponsor is testifying could be key in that bill never getting another hearing and dying.

With that in mind, Governor DeWine's "Strong Ohio" gun control bill is having it's second hearing in the Senate Government Oversight and Reform Committee, for PROPONENTS only, this Wednesday, November 13 at 4:00pm
North Hearing Room
Please attend if you can
