Bill to remove ban on self-defense while dining drafted

Post by Daniel »

Looks like we are getting some momentum on removing the ban on self defense while dining in a restaurant that serves liquor.

So, this is different from the 51% rule that some states have, right?

FANTASTIC!! Thanks OFCC, hope it goes through without any changes. Any idea how long this will take to go into effect?

Yes. If it goes through as is, you will not have to try to figure out how much of their revenue comes from liquor sales or play the "am I legal or am I a felon" lottery.

This bill would allow carry in most almost every bars; only those that serve no food requiring preparation beyond temperature maintenance (freezer/refrigerator storage) would be excluded.

Daniel- This is great news! My thanks go out to you and all of the OFCC members who have persisted on this issue. Is there anything we can currently do to help this process along?
"The right to keep and bear arms is rooted in both self-defense and insurance against government’s propensity toward tyranny. The right pre-existed the Constitution. Thus, the Second Amendment is not its source. The right to keep and bear arms is natural and inalienable; the Second Amendment protects it, and Congress has no legitimate power to restrict it." - Senator John Cornyn (R., Tex.), as reported in the National Review on July 4, 2016

Good to see things moving.

A big thanks to Daniel and the OFCC coordinators is in order. Thanks for keeping on this guys!
“He took down from the shelf a bottle of colourless liquid with a plain white label marked VICTORY GIN. It gave off a sickly, oily smell, as of Chinese rice-spirit. Winston poured out nearly a teacupful, nerved himself for a shock, and gulped it down like a dose of medicine. Instantly his face turned scarlet and the water ran out of his eyes. The stuff was like nitric acid, and moreover, in swallowing it one had the sensation of being hit on the back of the head with a rubber club.”
