Not all are single-voter with firearms being the single issue. When the alternatives are looked at, democrat alternatives are for abortion, infanticide, free college for all, increased immigration both legal and illegal, medicare for all and pretty much a socialist paradise, including outright gun confiscation. (At least on the national scale; not sure about Ohio dems).

No way can I vote for that crowd, nor could I go for most of the third parties. As I see it, my option is the same as the first Europeans that came here--separate or purify. One group back then wanted to pull away from the Church of England (Separatist), the other wanted to clean up the Church of England to what it should have been. Separating would mean aligning with positions that I believe are evil. That leaves doing what I can to purify, meaning helping where I can to get the Republicans back where they should be.

These are indeed dark times. But if we believe that this nation was put here for a reason, then we need to consider that it is still here after 243(?) years. We need to do what we can to keep it.

That's SO negative. Nearly nattering naybob level negativity. Welcome to understanding the issue at hand.

As negativity is so frowned upon, and many are, hopefully, now able to recognize the enemy within, let me offer a few suggestions.

Cookies are warfare. Education is warfare. Taking responsibility for one's own children, is a nuclear strike in the culture war. Public statements are warfare. Encouraging our Sheriffs and authorities to do the right thing (earning our future support and keep themselves safe in the process), is a weapon at hand.

While we still have the nominal Right to Assemble, we must sing with one united voice. While we are energized by the upcoming election cycle and the current ongoing betrayal of those we once trusted, we must re-establish a foundation from which we will build.

We must publicly repent of being tempted by compromise. We must repent of our abdication of authority to those who mean us harm, in our families, communities, our State, and our Nation. We must comprehend the absolute nature of RKBA and all of our Liberties, which predate the authority of civil government.

We must win back our Liberties, for our posterity to have a future. Having recognized our failure at the ballot box, how shall we exercise our Rights to win the day?

OFCC's response to DeWhine's press conference:

Contrary to Ohio Governor Mike DeWine's claim that his new gun control measures have been "crafted by Second Amendment supporters," Ohioans for Concealed Carry has not helped design, and does not support, Gov. DeWine's proposal.

Ohioans for Concealed Carry, formed in 1999, represents Ohio's 775,000 concealed carry licensees.

"OFCC is anxious to disassociate itself from Gov. DeWine's remarks," said Philip Mulivor, a spokesman for the group. "His comments might imply that OFCC, a well-known firearms rights organization, supports his proposal, which we do not."

But, the Fed gov is going to give us MONEY for this....we need MONEY...

But Ohioans for Concealed Carry, one of the largest Second Amendment rights groups in the state, told FOX 8 News he never consulted with them and they strongly oppose the governor.
"We are not participants in the design of this proposal and we currently do not support it," said Philip Mulivor.

"When you have the governor of a state grossly misrepresenting the position of the Second Amendment rights groups in the state, most of whom worked very hard to help him become elected, it's a little bit shocking what he's doing; he's out there saying something that is blatantly untrue," he added.

What Ohioans for Concealed Carry does support are laws that are currently making it through the Ohio legislature that would do the exact opposite -- taking away some of the current firearms regulations that are already on the books in Ohio.

House Bill 174 and House Bill 178 would allow anyone over the age of 21 who is legally allowed to own a gun to conceal carry a firearm without a permit.

The proposed legislation would also strip away the need for a background check and eliminate the requirement to announce to a law enforcement officer that you are carrying a concealed weapon when you are approached.

The laws are what has been commonly called "Constitutional Carry."

The bill is strongly opposed by police agencies across the state.

(Embedded video has an additional OFCC nugget of wisdom.)

Oh! Evvvvverything is on the table, Ooops, I'm sure the followup speechie will have the (R) portions being sought after...
Concealed carry as mentioned in the linked artikle // HB174-78
SB140 other weapons under CHL
Various other etc

Anyway, 1st time I saw any news clips on the governors anti-2A/ pro (D) speechie.

Now the reason I can say definitively this is a pro-Demokrat parjty position, alllllll those a-runnin' for (D) El Presidente' are spouting the same stuff.

“Do something” has become a rallying cry in Dayton since hundreds chanted it at DeWine during a vigil for the nine victims hours after the Aug. 4 shooting. Two days later, DeWine, a Republican, responded with a 17-point plan to reduce gun violence and bolster access to mental health services.

Many legislators, mostly Republicans, said they need to study the issue further before backing proposed solutions.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to heaven yet at the same time likely to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be “cured” against one’s will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on the level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.”

Letter: Conservatives would back new regulations

Postby kcclark » Sat Aug 17, 2019 11:45 am

In a letter to the editor in Thursday's Columbus Dispatch, a gentleman claiming to be a political conservative says he hunts, shoots, and protects his family. He has decided that we need a 30 day waiting period and to make all magazines that hold more than 9 rounds illegal. Also wants a federal red flag law. Claims he knows "many other conservatives" who also buy into this stuff. Besides him personally wanting this stuff, I give the rest 4 Pinocchios. Ticks me off when newspapers print such obvious BS letters.

Not BS. That comes from the John McCain/ Mitt Romney conservatives. Where your rights and freedoms are ok, as long as they approve and you don’t disturb the elites.

Exhibit One i why I identify as a libertarian. Small L, not the party that put up Johnson & Weld in the last election (gun grabbers....you cannot be a Libertarian and support Gun Control).

DeWine, formerly endorsed by the Brady Campaign and then by NRA, caving and betraying when the going gets tough, should surprise absolutely no one who has watched this principle-shifting creature of political opportunity slither into office over the years—as I have. And the other Republicans must be noticing that there is very little desperate, “lesser of two evils”-voters won’t swallow. Otherwise, gun owners would be melting down the switchboards when Lt. Gov. John Husted makes absurd claims about “red flag laws” like:

“It's not seizing somebody's property without due process. That was the stick, that was the issue that couldn't get resolved in the past. We've worked with voices across the broad array of concerned, we believe we have those sorted out.”

Flesh that out for us, Mr. Lt. Gov. Because some of us don't believe that.

What they all have in common you ask?

Career politicans

And PHOOEY on that little terms limits laws you passed years ago, we found us a loophole now remember, so-called loopholes are bad when...U use them, for firearms, taxes & the like

Go thru this chamber, into that chamber; pause via a national slot, go to seperate office/agency head, come back to ...whatever next is open. And next, nexter, nextest, back to next againe & againe

It's a violation of the spirit of the law which ALWAYS gives rise to the letter of the law
