I plan on getting my CCW here in Portage County. I have had my passport for the past 6 years, still valid. Four years ago I was charged with felony theft, 5th degree. I pleaded and got it dropped down to misdemeanor 1st degree. Paid all my fines, no jail time, all is good. That was exactly 4 years ago. Another issue is that I had drug possession charge and because it was a first time offense I followed a program and everything was sealed.
Should I bother going to class to obtain my ccw or will I be wasting my time? Who decides that I get my CCW?

Should be good to go. Even if the f5 was not reduced you would of not been disabled since it was not a crime of violence. From what I understand as soon as you complete the first time offender program the prosecutor drops charges.
