HI-TEK-LUBE Bullet Coating
There's a discussing over on the Loadmaster Vedios Forum about the HI-TEK-LUBE Bullet Coating process that looks promising.
It looks similar Orochimaru's Adventures in Powder Coating process, but without the need for the electrostatic equipment.
There's another thread over on the Cast Boolits Forum discussing this process.
Happy Hacking!

not needed... buy the powder from harbor freight, mix with lacquer thinner and "shake N bake"... nothing needed but a toaster over

According to this thread over at cast boolits, you can skip the lacquer thinner and add some 6mm airsoft pellets.Ring wrote:buckeye43210 wrote:There's a discussing over on the Loadmaster Vedios Forum about the HI-TEK-LUBE Bullet Coating process that looks promising.

Looks good. Did you use the dry tumble method?

Re: HI-TEK-LUBE Bullet Coating
Is there a reason for specifying red, or is it just a matter of preference?

The Harbor Freight red powder coat seems to work better than their other colors for dry tumbling. Their flat black powder coating is reported to not work well with this method.mreising wrote:Is there a reason for specifying red, or is it just a matter of preference?
Some people refer to the red powder coated bullets as terrorist lipstick...

Re: HI-TEK-LUBE Bullet Coating
The dry tumble method depends on static electricity developed by shaking in the polypropylene bowl. The red powder seems to have more "static cling" than the other harbor freight colors for better coating. The HF line of powder is cheaper by far than most other lines so most people use that. I don't have experience with other colors from other online sources.mreising wrote:Is there a reason for specifying red, or is it just a matter of preference?
