How Fast Can I Reload Using The Lee 1000?
A few people here have mentioned how fast they can make a completed cartridge with the Lee 1000. Some have said they can't believe that the press can be run that fast. As I recall, I was asked to make a video of me reloading so they could see how fast the press can run. Ok....
Ten 9mm rounds from an empty shellplate with the Lee 1000. Notice I don't make a round until 8 seconds into the video.
I believe my claim was at least 100 rounds in 15 minutes. I'm sure someone here will do the math.
Man I hope I go back to work soon. The boredom of being laid off is killing me.

Looks like you did a pretty decent job of making that red press keep up with this guy on a blue press

Once you get it dialed in all should be, as it should be.
I'd checkd my powder charge about a million times, the OAL was right, etc... Even at that pace, I can still feel a primer when it doesn't seat right.
So, at that pace how many rounds you figure I can put out in 15 minutes?

Youtube had 22 views and no ratings, so I gave you a 5 star pat on the back.
Actually, I just posted Ready to pull the trigger and order my first reloading equipment on TheHighRoad.org, where our very own evan price was also recommending the Lee 1000 as a better choice than the Lee turret press.
Your video makes the Lee 1000 choice pretty compelling.

On my 550B you do, not sure about the rest, was admiring that feature on yoursArcherAce wrote:'Cept I didn't have to run my video in double time.
That blue press is slow. Do you really have to manually advance the Dillion?

I'm not so sure about a progressive as your first press. It doesn't always work as smoothly as it is in the video. I started with a turret and then moved up to the progressive. If you start with a turret, you can always sell it and get a progressive.

At the next Meet n Greet or PITP, instead of looking for concealed guns, we should try to detect who reloads based on their "Popeye" arms.
