Vance Outdoor's - No Longer Sell Reloading Supplies?

Post by synack2 »

I stopped by Vance the other day. Just to see if they had any primers in stock and to get another reloading tray. ALL of the reloading supplies were gone. No bullets, powder, shotgun wads, dies, scales... Nothing. I asked the cashier when I checked out and she said they weren't selling "that stuff" anymore. Unfortunate. I liked stopping it and checking. I never by a gun their because it takes hours and hours to get one, but I will still stop in and check for deals on ammo I guess.

Getting supplies had been spotty and mostly impossible for three years. The number of people who reload has severely declined. There's really very little profit on that sector anymore and it doesn't really surprise me they choose to stop.

Also, with the myriad of powders and bullets, how can you decide what to stock and still be able to manage inventory.

Fortunately Dawsons has a pretty good supply of (pricey) powder and I still like to cast my bullets. OK on primers now, but not for long.

I was at the Lebanon store today. An employee told me they still sell reloading supplies but keeping them in stock gets tougher all the time.

I was at a buddy's house on Sunday who does his own reloads. He told me he also had found nothing available at the Cleveland Avenue store. When he asked about it, he was told that stuff had been moved to the other stores. He has yet to visit the other Columbus area stores to see if that is true.
