If it's a file, such as a PDF, you can email it to me and I can upload it to the main site and you can link it.
Send me a PM if that interests you

I see that the BFA President "takes responsibility" for not informing the campus community of that second OC event. Does that mean he'll* resign over that failure?

BB62, that same article says the handgun carrying guy from the first incident was waving the gun around. Any idea if that's true?

*BGSU President is named Rodney Rogers. Maybe the preferred gender pronoun is "she'll" or "it'll" or "they'll". Proper use of PGPs is vital in College World these days.

No doubt he'll probably just finish out the week, then ride into the sunset...  (Not BFA, btw  )

No idea, although I specifically requested video of any such instances of that in a follow-up records request. (From the article "The incident happened near the Kohl residence hall & Carillon dining facility just before 2 p.m.")

I think you've hit upon the most significant element of the entire matter.

The Twitter/Facebook/comment reactions to their presence has been a combination of strong, varied, and uninformed. ...
One of the Tuesday OCers...

YES!

Thanks Chuck.

P.S. - the reason I was given for the redactions is that the matter was still under investigation, and as such redactions were allowed per CLEIR: https://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/Med ... ry-Records" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My so called smart phone did that to my earlier post, in two places. And I didn't notice the mistake the first time.

You can look up the case information here:

https://tinyurl.com/9xzrj4rf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Agree to the terms, then choose "TR/CR Case Lookup" and type in "Seymour, Daniel" (capitalization optional, btw).

As of now, it lists this as the next activity:

PRETRIAL CONFERENCE
Next Date: 05/05/2021
Next Time: 01:30PM

I know nothing beyond what is listed.

And it only took them over a month to dismiss the charge.

Charges against a man who was arrested for carrying a firearm on the Bowling Green State University campus have been dismissed.

David Seymour, 39, of Bowling Green, was charged April 18 with misdemeanor inducing panic and pleaded not guilty.

His case was dismissed May 26.

The original complaint was he was waiving the gun around, said Seymour’s attorney, Scott Coon.

“He never removed the gun from the holster, never waived it around,” Coon said.

When the prosecutor’s office viewed the campus video surveillance, it showed Seymour never removed the gun from its holster and didn’t waive it around, Coon said.
I wonder if they thought this due to some bogus 911 call, reporting stuff that never happened, like the 911 caller did to the guy at the Beavercreek Walmart.
The incident was copied later that month when two men reportedly came onto the campus carrying guns.

Such an act is not illegal, President Rodney Rogers said after the incidents.

The men were openly carrying firearms to demonstrate their rights under state law, which supersedes BGSU policies, he said.

“They gave BGSU Police advance notification of their activity late this morning,” Rogers said at the time. “While concealing a firearm on campus is a violation of our policy and Ohio Revised Code, today’s activity involving open carry is not unlawful. BGSU Police monitored their activity while on campus to ensure there was no physical threat, and our officers engaged both individuals in a conversation and understanding of the law.”

I think some people misreport what they see. Maybe for nefarious reasons, or because they're badly frightened. Here's an example:

Back in my early fire/EMS days there was a cop who, when he arrived at a medical emergency before us, got on our radio channel and screamed "STEP IT UP!!" if the situation was indeed serious. As if to say, we were taking our time responding. Truth was, he'd get there and be totally unable to help in any useful way. So he'd dump on us.

Those radio channels were shared by other departments back then, and it sure made us sound bad.

Been a while since I've been on here...

Yes, the case was dismissed. I submitted a number of records requests, which as far as I'm concerned, BGSU played games with - including for video footage of the fellow walking on or near campus.

The prosecutor didn't have a case, IMHO.

Look for a BGSU Walk in the spring of 2022.
