Kenwood Towne Center actually IS posted but it's not obvious

Post by Mcm180 »

Hi all,

I just went to Kenwood Towne Center (the big one, the one with Red Robin, Cheesecake Factory, Dillards, etc.). Many of the entrances aren't posted. But I went in through the entrance next to Pottery Barn Kids - it goes directly into the mall, not into any of the anchor stores - and there's a sign on the wall that includes a few lists. One of them is the "Code of Conduct" and the last item says "no firearms or illegal weapons."

Whether it's conspicuous is a matter of debate. But I've decided to consider the mall itself a CPZ. I'm not interested in getting into a debate with prosecutors or police about whether the sign is conspicuous. My kids love Red Robin so we'll still go there occasionally, but I will do my darnedest not to enter the rest of the mall.

Just so you know, and you can all make your choices as you see fit.

May God bless you all.

Welcome.
One thing most of us have learned not to do is HUNT for CPZ signs. If I don't see it as I enter it isn't there! Code of Conducts are one of those that most of us seldom read. They are usually someplace we have to go out of our way to find. Then you still need to take the time to read it!

I haven't read those Code of Conduct things in years because they seem geared about 95% towards teenagers, especially unescorted ones.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

Personally I do a quick scan for the formal silhouette with the red slash line. If my eye picks it up I call it conspicuous. If not, I go shopping.
