Hardrock Rocksino Northfield

I was just there this weekend and did NOT see any posted signs on the doors or at the security / ID stand upon entering.

If I don't see a sign are we good to carry inside there... or is this one of those places that does not need to post?

I know the Horseshoe Casino downtown is posted on all doors.

PS: I did not mention or ask anything about CCW to anyone at the Rocksino.

Casinos are not statutory no-carry locations, they must post if they wish to prevent patrons from being armed as far as I am aware.

They had a sign on the guard gate for the horsemen to pass through that prohibited firearms on the premises. I don't remember seeing the sign when they moved the gate to the new location this year.

Awesome. I plan on going soon. Will carry. I have a question though and pm me if it causes too much thread drift. When the ohio constitution was amended to permit gambling weren't only 3 places allowed?

Actually 4 casinos were allowed, but racinos slots are technically lottery terminals that are controlled by a central computer system under the supervision of the lottery commission. Since they are set up this way and don't offer table games the state has decided (a decision the courts have refused to allow a challenge to) they are not subject to the constitutional amendment but simply a legal extension of the state run lottery.

In the vein of "did my diligence..." should it later be learned that there is a 1x1 clingy with red ink on a clear background posted behind the no smoking sign on the north east exit door.

Does the "Rocksino" have an Ohio casino operator license?

If so, no guns, due to an administrative rule that, in my opinion, violates R.C. 9.68.

http://codes.ohio.gov/oac/3772-20-01" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

(D) Except for the following persons, no casino operator licensee or applicant shall permit firearms at a casino facility, as defined in division (C) of section 3772.01 of the Revised Code...

Of course, if there is no sign posted for you to see, that is an issue between the casino and the casino commission.

And, like cashman said, same goes for just being a "lottery parlor". No sign, no problem.

I wonder why Ohio choose to write the law to make it unarmed security? I for one wouldn't do that job unarmed these days. Didn't see any signs but the way I read the law it may be prohibited??? The race track itself is (had a sign I'll have to look next time I'm there) posted no firearms. The security there is armed FYI but are separate from the casino.

I was there again on Monday... I did some looking around and did find an engraved silver "Rules and Regulations" sign on the wall at the main entrance after you enter the first set of doors. It is over to the far right and not easy to see, minimal lighting at night.... Rule #1 on there is no pistols or firearms. :x

Does anyone need reading glasses to be able to read this list?

If you go in at night, that sign is not easy to read with available lighting.

Last time I went to Scioto Downs, they were posted.

They fit the racino platform, but apparently chose to post on the doors at the main entrance. I didn't check any other doors, and have not been back since.
