Cleveland Plain Dealer Does it Again

Post by rickt »

Friday's PD announced they were going to publish more CHL listings on their web site. Sometime during today they finally appeared.

They haven't published CHL lists in the print edition since about last November, I suspect because the accountants told them how much money it was costing them. Publishing only on the web only costs them the wages of whoever compiles the list (probably a low paid intern).

Thanks for his email address! I just sent him an email. It's a shame that the law allows this! What about the thousands of people like me, who live in another state and travel through Ohio? He does not have a clue who we are!!! Flood him with email, but don't get nasty. SFC Stu

I just sent this:
Dear Doug,
Thank you so much for posting the names of people authorized to carry concealed weapons. I'm sure there are others who would like to contact you, so I am sending your address and phone number to all of my acquaintences and will be posting it on my web-site for all to see. I wish you and your family well.

Sincerely,
Todd Hill

Folks,

I totally support what OFCC did when we posted the PD editor's contact info on the website. I have also not edited out the link to find that info.

However, since posting contact info is specifically prohibited by the forum rules, I had to remove it from these posts. Thank you for understanding.

Quite a few names are missing from the lists. Perhaps the PD strategy is to make the general public (and the criminals) think that there are a lot fewer folks packing heat than really are, so that the criminals think that they are safe to continue business as usual.

It's an interesting example of incompetence that the Plain Dealer can't even get an accurate list of names published. Makes one wonder how incompetent they are in other areas where the facts are more complex than a list of names.
